Are wedding bells just around the corner? If you are a bride-to-be, you must be overwhelmed with all the excitement, nervousness, and preparations for your special day.  But you may also go overboard at times which can do more harm than good. Are you doing any of these 5 things? If yes, you need to stop now.

Following fad diets

In a bid to lose a lot of weight in a short time, several brides-to-be often resort to fad or crash dieting which promise just that. Yes, you can lose 5-10 kg by following these diets, but in the process, you are severely harming your health. Fad diets often ask you to stop eating certain foods or a food group which deprive your body the required nutrition. Along with weight loss, be sure to lose your health too. Here are more reasons to avoid fad diets.

Hitting the gym night and day

If you are someone who does not starve yourself following crash diets, good for you. But if you are making up for it by being a gym rat, you may again be inviting trouble. Gymming is definitely good for health and recommended but over exercising isn’t. Your body needs enough rest to repair your muscles and not giving it that time can lead to injuries and other such hazards. Here’s what can go wrong.

Trying too many skin/hair treatments

Yes, we know you want to look your best on your special day. But the best to ensure this is to stick to your tried and tested routine and products. Often salons rope in customers by telling them that they really need a certain treatment but if it doesn’t suit your skin, you will end up with a zit or rash. If you really want to experiment, do it at least a month before your wedding so that you have time to recover in case things go awry.

Working out but not eating right

The classic case of doing one thing right and expecting amazing results. If you work out but think you can eat whatever you wish, you are mistaken. Your body, in fact, needs healthy food that is nutritious for it to get back the energy spent during the workout session. Make sure you follow a healthy diet to support your exercise regimen. After all, diet plays a larger part than exercise in weight loss.

Stressing out about the big day

Stress shows on your skin which is something you wouldn’t want on your special day. Yes, you want everything to be perfect on your D-Day but you also need ample rest to look fresh when all eyes will be on you. Don’t get so involved in the preparations that your health takes a backseat. Soak it all in and hope for the best and everything will fall into place. Read how stress affects your skin.
