Can stress cause serious skin conditions? (query)

I am a 28-year-old woman and have a very hectic work schedule. I am usually under a lot of stress. I know it can play havoc with my health and also result in ageing, but can it also lead to some skin condition? I am worried.

Stress not only affects our health but also causes skin problems. This is because it causes hormonal imbalance, which is the main cause for aggravating skin conditions. Also, stressed out people tend to develop bad habits such as smoking, drinking, etc. which cause more skin issues.

Stress is the most common trigger for rosacea flare-ups. Apart from this, it can also cause skin conditions such as:

  • Eat a well-balanced diet.
  • Relax yourself mentally and physically with yoga.
  • Engage in regular physical activities.
  • Cut down on smoking and drinking.
  • Get enough sleep.
